ISMICK'05

Tenth International Symposium on the
Management of Industrial and Corporate Knowledge

3-4 November 2005

Université de Technologie de Compiègne
   France

During the last few years we have organized an international meeting, ISMICK, that started at Compiègne (France) in 1993, organized by the IIIA Institute, and also took place in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). The goal of the ISMICK meetings was to discuss Knowledge Management in industry and services, by confronting positions from academia, services and industry. In the early 90s the subject was new in Europe. During the last ten years however, Knowledge Management took more and more importance, and today it is taught in some classes in many schools.

We at IIIA and UTC (Université de Technologie de Compiègne), would like to close the series of ISMICK meetings in organizing the 10th ISMICK at Compiègne next November, before addressing other subjects.

Participants will be invited to present their conclusions about the last 10 years of Knowledge Management, as well as to venture some ideas about the future and newcomers will be invited to react to the presentations.

Relevant questions
We would like to have your opinion on questions like:
- Has KM changed in the last 15 years? If so, how?
- (equivalently) Has KM the same meaning as it had 15 years ago?
- Were all questions raised 15 years ago solved in the enterprise?
- Do we have the technology to implement KM easily?
- Has the company culture changed to include KM?
- Do we know how to assess the ROI of KM?
- Are there accepted theoretical models for KM?
- Did cultural aspects of KM become unified worldwide?
- Will KM evolve dramatically in the next few years?
- Etc.
Registration
The registration cost will be kept to a minimum in order to cover part of the publication costs, 3 meals and coffee breaks. It is expected to stay under 150€ per person.
