PhD students admitted in this field have different backgrounds (engineers, Masters of Science, Medical Doctors, etc).
The students' research activities are often carried out in the laboratory whose research in biomechanics is internationally renowned. This laboratory is accredited by the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research)
There are a certain number of theoretical courses related to research in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering offered at UTC, however PhD students may also be required to follow courses in other institutions affiliated to this specialization.
A large part of the training is also carried out in collaboration with regional medical centers.
With constant support from the Biomedical Engineering and Perinatal Infant Center.
Research may also be carried out in another laboratory in agreement with UTC PhD School.
A thesis in this field leads to jobs in higher education, research and public health institutes, or industry.
