The major in Innovation and complexity

The IC Master degree concerns the study of innovating processes complexity, especially in the framework of socio-technical systems. The strategic value of innovation is addressed from the point of view of interacting environment design (UxD specialization) or from the point of view of complex socio-technical or economical systems dynamic frame (SIC specialization)

User experience design

The User eXperience Design (UxD) specialization program is set at the crossroad of the design, the computer sciences, and the human sciences fields, to educate experts in human-centred interaction design. They will master complex interaction analysis methodologies and observation and the design process of innovating products and technological services.

Based on multidisciplinary pedagogical projects, this programme is open to students in the domains of design, computer sciences and human sciences who want to develop humancentred foreseen projects calling for technology. A specificity of the UxD program is to offer a fruitful field for the emergence of new ideas and to take the idea from the proof of its concept to a functional demonstrator.

After graduation the student will work as scientific and technical project manager in the domains of :
  • research & innovation,
  • research & development,
  • design activities in international industries and institutions,
  • public organizations,
  • computer services companies, start ups,
  • consulting services...or continue their studies toward a PhD in User eXperience Design.

Stratégy for innovation in complex situation

The ability to react to the profound transformations of todays capitalism (fi nancial, social and environemental crisis), calls for a number of skills that go far beyond the technical scope of engineers. The ICS specialization program aims at educating high level researchers and executives who will master the development of a strategic knowledge of complexity in the dynamic framework of interactions within the socio-technical and socio-economic complex systems.

Management reactivity to the radical transformations of today’s entrepreneurships calls for supplementing the technical knowledge of engineers by a strategic approach of complexity. This needs corresponds to the emergence of new professions, which unites the skills of engineers in design, development and eco-innovation with those of immaterial economy, projects management, and complexity modelling.

The ICS specialization educates specialists and experts in the design and implementing of strategies for innovation and valorisation in companies and institutions.
