This specialization aims at training students in new technologies and design methods for solving mechanical problems which are by nature related to different considerations in physics, at different scales. Thesis work takes place in the Roberval laboratory which is accredited by the "CNRS" (National center for Scientific Research).
They essentially concern current problems in mechanical engineering such as: design, manufacturing, quality, maintenance, environmental protection. The courses offered are theoretical, technological and experimental, which is essential for understanding complex systems composed of solid or fluid components. Many research projects are defined and carried out in collaboration with both national & international academic and industrial research institutes.
The scientific fields covered are materials science, CAD applied to solids & fluids, vibrations & acoustic wave propagation, design methodology, experimental measurements methodology, precision metrology for applications concerning manufacturing processes, assembling and machining, machine functioning, improving predictions on structure durability.
