Practical information

Everything you need to know to prepare your trip to Compiègne.

Before leaving

Visa

A residence permit is compulsory for any international student who stays more than three months in France, except for those who have a visa for six months or more. It is valid for one year and the request for its renewal must be done two months before the expiration. It can be obtained at the "Sous-Préfecture" in Compiègne, within two months following the arrival in France.

Each student must check the most up-to-date visa information according to their nationality about six months prior to departure.

A type “D” student visa is required to enter France for international students who are not from the European Union or the European Economic Area. Swiss nationals are also exempt.

To find out how to apply for a visa contact the nearest French consulate or Embassy in your country.

In any case, a letter of admission from UTC is the first document needed to obtain a visa.
