Sustainable technologies for valorisation of renewable resources

The objective of this speciality is to give to the students the knowledge and methodologies necessary for conception, assessment and development of sustainable technologies on the basis of clean and green processes (economs in reactives and energy, respectful of environment).

It presents the technologies for transformation and conversion of bioresources, production of bioenergy or molecules with high added value, valorisation of biomass and by-products, minimisation of wastes, capture of CO2. This speciality gives to the students an expertise in physical processes (extraction / separation), thermochemical processes (pyrolysis, gasification) and biotechnologies, concerning mainly renewable resources.

The educational program covers the principles of eco-conception and of eco-effectiveness, innovative and alternative techniques (for example, ultrasounds, microwaves, pulsed electrical fields, extrusion), processes for biorefineries, valorisation of by-products and wastes.
