The Labex "System of Systems Control" education program includes now a Master in Interacting Complex Systems (MSCI).
MSCI delivers a national master diploma fully accredited by French Ministry of Higher Education.
The concept of "Technological system of systems (TSoS) refers to interconnecting autonomous technological systems. A TSoS is therefore a complex system of a particular type, created by the systematic and dynamic assembly of various interacting sub-systems that can collaborate, or be used conjointly, to carry out certain assigned tasks. TSoSs could, for example, be a flotilla of small UAVs, multimodal transport systems, sensor networks, etc.
MSCI is also interested by much smaller scales but where, nonetheless, there is a high complexity due to the numerous interactions and/or the heterogeneity of the elements.
Examples here are to be found in biological or physiological systems (muscle-skeleton system, the uterine muscles …), palliative systems in living bodies (rehabilitation, artificial organs, labs on chips …) or yet again in mechatronic systems that integrate actuators and networking redundant sensors.
Finally the courses cover optimised design for TSoSs (systems with multi-material mechanical components, mechatronic control systems…) for which we shall consider various levels of abstraction, using hierarchic model assembly techniques borrowed from different speciality areas (material, acoustic, thermal, magnetic models...).
The objectives of the MSCI program are to provide future managers with excellent scientific and technological expertise to study, simulate and design of innovative Interacting Complex-Systems through a multidisciplinary system of systems approach.
