Marc BUI is Professor at the University of Paris 8 and Director of the Laboratory of Computing and Complex Systems (LaISC) from the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (EPHE)

His work currently focuses on the problem of simulation of behavioral phenomena in complex systems, especially with regard to the decision, and, using distributed computing. For decision support must include the development of a set of models and methods on the whole process of decision making, that is to say, the data structure to the decision it itself. The guiding principle of his research can be characterized by the modeling and simulation of behavioral phenomena in complex systems, with the supporting construction of tools for decision support.

Title :
A complex system approach to the modelling of urban aerial pollution
(the case of the city of Ouagadougou - CNRS France-Burkina Faso international and interdisciplinary MOUSSON Project)

Abstract :
In this talk, we propose a complex system modeling and a multi-agent systems based simulation of aerial pollution of an urban area. Our model and interdisciplinary approach is applied validated ground data in the context of the pollution diffusion in the city of Ouagadougou. This work was supported by the CNRS project Mousson as an interdisciplinary initiative including human sciences, earth sciences, health sciences and modelers.
First we develop a mathematical model of the spatial area from the pollution point of view. This model is based both on the concept of proximity defined with a pre topological structure and the concept of random sets. Secondly, we present a simulation approach using the multi agents systems paradigm. Finally, we review the advantages of our modeling and list the remaining problems in view of efficient policies for fighting against pollution.
