The management of technological Systems of systems targets a scope of application that may be very large. Backed by the experience of the three partner laboratories, Labex MS2T will make significant progress on several significant social issues, especially :

Intelligent electric car

The scheduled arrival of electrically-powered vehicles constitutes a major evolution. This evolution will favor the mass introduction of robotic technology to vehicles. In fact, electric actuators (potentially integrated into wheels) may be controlled intelligently to save embedded energy and/or make journeys safer in cooperation with the driver (bi-modal control). The target of MS2T will be to make cars autonomous at medium speed (0 to 110 km/h).


Multi-modal transport systems

Interconnected transport must meet the major challenges posed by safety and sustainable mobility : optimization of traffic fluidity, passenger information, freight and fleet management, etc. Heudiasyc/MS2T will be involved in the development at Compiègne of a “Living laboratory” intended to carry out full-scale and “in situ” experiments. This Living laboratory will prefigure a new urban development model and the integration of innovative digital service, usage and content in the towns of tomorrow. Roberval/MS2T, meanwhile, will be involved in the production of experimental installations around inland navigation. The aim of this “Intelligent Multi-modal Mobility” is to lead to cooperation between different means of transport in order to optimize their impact on the environment.
