Electromechanical (LEC)

The Electromechanical research unit is focusing on a unique type of research: Electrical actuators and  embarked energy drivability systems. The aim is to reinforce the LEC’s expertise in the field of global design of electronically driven actuators. In this field it is necessary to master aspects as different as modelling electromagnetic phenomena, power electronics, controls, as well as constraints linked to thermodynamics and acoustics.

In view of these various aspects activities concentrate on complementary subjects called :

  •  Design, electrical machine modelling and controls

This subject aims at modelling and optimizing innovative electrical actuators at the structural level (machines, power electronics and control) as well as the conditions for using traditional structures.
  •  Embarked systems and energy

Constant research concerning increasing the autonomy of embarked systems requires optimal sizing and control of actuators, as well as their energy supply systems. Particular care is given to studying strategies for optimal modulation, modelling and supervision of electrochemical power resources (batteries).

Research

The LEC laboratory aims at combining high quality university research with outside partners. Research topics are currently being developed  particularly favor “clean and economical vehicles”.

LEC has in fact been selected to take part in five national projects in the framework of tenders from the National Research Agency (ANR) and the FCE which promotes French competitiveness.

This research is also well-adapted to regional research policy and the competitive centers called “Mobility and Advanced Transport” (MTA) and MOVEO.

Joint laboratory with Valéo company.
