Scientific policy

UTC’s mission from its very foundation has been to conduct technological research. If the objective of science is to discover what we do not yet know, the mission of technology is to build what does not yet exist. UTC aims at going beyond the application of research in the engineering fields. Its technological research is profoundly anchored in the human element by proposing the necessary knowledge for carrying out new possibilities for mankind.

Objective : to spread and disseminate knowledge

Our scientific policy aims at conducting interdisciplinary research and in exchanging different points of view regarding the fields of research carried out , which subsequently strech the boundaries of research and the interaction between :

  •  Different research fields
  •  Research units
  •  Public and private sector
  •  University and Society

An original position : “social eco-technologies”

UTC approaches technological research by looking for appropriate answers to current problems. It elaborates technologies “for society” which meet its demands and integrate social aspects into the choice and the way of conducting research in view of sustainable development. Today we can also speak of "social eco-technologies" which put technological research back into the heart of nature, society and man.

For example :

  •  The Natural Environment : safe, non-polluting and alternative processes
  •  The Social Environment : informing people, suggesting solutions
  •  The Cognitive Environment : the man-machine relationship
