Le thème "Diversité moléculaire et biocatalyse" (B. Bihan-Avalle) utilise les mécanismes naturels de genèse de diversité du système immunitaire et les méthodes combinatoires d’expression en surface de bactériophages afin:
d'aborder l'étude de l'origine et du support de l'activité catalytique des anticorps,
d'utiliser la diversité moléculaire pour étudier les relations structure-fonction et sélectionner des molécules d'intérêt,
et d'appliquer les méthodes de sélection à la bioinspiration dans différents domaines, comme celui de l'énergie.
