DISCUSSION :

 

The results of the present study showed :

- the 'screw like' and opposite motion of the talus and calcaneus.

- the motion of the cuboid and navicular bone was close to a rotary translation motion.

- the motion of both cartilage body and nucleus osseous were similar suggesting a conservation of the intraosseous relationship of the bones excepted for the cuboid.

This should be confirmed or not by a higher number of patients.

The method allowed to analyse the 3D motion of clubfoot bones and to get a better comprehension of the clubfoot deformity.

The simulation of the motion of the clubfoot bones should be of interest for preoperative planning surgery (visualisation of osteotomy correction).
