It was decided by the organising committee that the Proceedings should be made widely available. However, in order to allow us to maintain the organisational costs as low as possible, only an on-line version of the Proceedings is available.
The Proceedings of previous conferences are available in book format.

The UNTELE colloquia have systematically had the objective of bringing together the most diverse public interested in the use of technology, primarily computer-based, in foreign language teaching and learning. These colloquia have brought together teachers from secondary schools and universities, from the public sector as well as the private sector. They have avoided becoming an "exclusive club" and presentations have remained of high standard.
Technology for technology's sake has never been a preoccupation of the Compiègne colloquia. Technology is merely seen to be a means, and not an end in itself, whence the importance of word order: teaching and learning. The aim has been to identify the role played by technology in language education: who, why, what for, when, how, where
The proceedings of the preceeding UNTELE colloquia, published in three volumes, have been organised as follows: technology as a tool Volume I , technology and innovation in language education Volume II , and second language acquisition within computerised environments Volume III Downloading instructions
