Since 1998, the CRED (Cognitive Research and Enaction Design) carries out technological research which articulates human science, design and philosophical thought, in accordance with the general scientific policy of the Technological University of Compiegne (UTC). The aim is to link this particular sort of research with various domains of engineering, taking care that neither shall be reduced to the other.
In addition, the ambition is to carry out research that is sensitive to the natural, social and cognitive quality of the environment. The CRED (previously GSP), a research team which has always been profoundly interdisciplinary ever since its creation ten years ago, therefore organizes its research projects to meet exacting requirements concerning:
- the scientific and philosophical aspects of the question of cognition ;
- technological standards, in particular the design of "perceptual supplementation" devices
- social aspects, paying particular attention to questions of accessibility, ethics and shared values

Atelier philosophie
Le lundi 18 janvier 2010, pour l'atelier philosophie, nous poursuivons la lecture du texte là où nous nous étions arrêtés à la dernière séance.
Nous consacrons les séances de cette année au problème du cerveau (Quel statut épistémologique lui accorder dans nos disciplines ? Est-il raisonnable d'opter pour une solution au problème du rapport conscience-cerveau ? Comment poser le problème ?), et que, dans cette optique, nous avons entrepris la lecture de l'ouvrage du philosophe Raymond Ruyer (1902-1987) intitulé "La conscience et le corps" (1937). Cet ouvrage aborde en effet frontalement la question de l'articulation de la conscience et du cerveau, et propose une solution, relativement originale, qu'on qualifie généralement d' "épiphénoménisme inversé".
