The objective of the project is to optimize a traction system of the "hybrid parallel" kind, thanks to a collaboration between two teams of complementary competences: one, in the field of the motricity systems to embedded energy (LEC/UTC); the other, in that of the storage of energy (LRCS/UPJV).
The principle of a chain of hybrid traction parallel consists in being able to function in " thermal "," electric " mode or a combination of both.

Limited for a long time by the complexity of the transmission system, progress in the optimization of the electric machines and the power electronics authorizes a simple structure now.
The figure above presents an example of realization within the collaboration field between LEC/UTC and VALEO.

This project proposes to establish an analysis method capable to lead to a total solution of hybrid type parallel optimal for a schedule of conditions given. The development of two complementary test benches: one, allowing to test commercial batteries under conditions of cycling compatible with the characteristics of the electric system; the other, making it possible to measure energy flows (voltage, currents) between the converter and the battery, will be used to establish batteries and converters models sufficiently precise, to carry out a real optimization. With the participating teams, this project will also allow, to acquire new competences on complementary fields necessary to the motorization of "clean vehicles", whether they are of the "electric" or "hybrid" kind.
