Four actions will be undertaken in this topic:

1. Optimal design machine

This topic is centered on the aspects related to the optimal design methods; it results from the need for developing the tools of a multi-field modeling, allowing to design in a rational way the electric actuators in increasingly constraining environments. The studies dealt with the problem under two complementary aspects:

Global design by optimization (J-M Biedinger).

Optimization of form with models of finite elements (J-M Biedinger - D. Lemoine).

Calculation " flux 2D".

The Integrated Stater Generator (ISG) makes up one of the major stakes of the car equipment suppliers for the decade to come. It will be necessary to deal with various challenges, like performances and powers increase, but also the realization of new functionalities, or the prospect for motorization of the hybrid vehicles.

In this context, and taking into account the assets of the Laboratory in this field, the logical evolutions of the set of themes in the short run will relate primarily to the ADI design problems and its extensions towards the hybrid motorization:

Definition of digital models adapted to the design phase;

Search for new structures of more powerful machines.

2. Development of models adapted to the control

3. "Real time" identification of the electric machines for their control.

4.Analysis of acoustic noises generated during electric machine - electronic power converter association
