At the Université de technologie de Compiègne (UTC), we are proud of the treasure represented by our 4 500 students engaged in courses ranging from engineering degrees to the doctorate. For us, student life symbolises not only the fulfilment of our students but also their success in all the projects they undertake during their studies at the UTC.
The UTC model is specific, placing the student at the heart of his/her course choices from the moment they apply for admission to the institution. UTC attaches particular importance to inclusive and diverse undergraduate recruitment, based not only on academic excellence but also on the way in which students approach their studies and their career plans. One of our foundation principles is to offer a modular teaching approach, open to the international and socio-economic world, encouraging individual adaptability, agility and open-mindedness.
UTC also stands out inasmuch as a third of its courses are dedicated to humanities, offering a crucial perspective on the analysis of contemporary engineering situations. This broader vision is essential if we are to understand the global impact of an ever-changing Society. Anchored in local life, as a university in the heart of the city of Compiegne, UTC embodies a dynamic place for both teaching and research. Community life, student support and social commitment play a central role, reflecting the institution's global vision.
Based on the strength of these values, we have drafted UTC's first Master Plan for Student Life (MPSL) in our own image, and we have preferred to call it the 'student life improvement Master Plan' in order to be more in line with the already rich array of existing activities at UTC. We have therefore opted for a co-construction approach, placing students at the heart of the reflection and drafting of proposals.
This MPSL plan is the result of genuine consultation between students, UTC staff and local stakeholders. The actions programmed in this plan are based on three main themes. We wanted this Plan to be ambitious and firmly rooted in reality, in order to achieve our objectives over a period of 5 years [2024–2028].
It is with this ambition for achievement and success for all our students that we are committed to working actively for the well-being of our community.
